I'm going to seneca lake this weekend. I had a camp there and did fishing when I was there up until I was about 11 and then we sold the camp. I didn't know much I just fished with worms from our dock. This is the first time I am going back to go fishing. My question is, are there flatheads in the lake? I assume there are and it may be a dumb question but I want to be sure so I don't go fishing for them if they aren't there. What other kinds of fish are there for me to target? If I don't catch any flatheads I may switch to fishing for channels. What baits are there for me to catch there? I just need some info on the lake and maybe a few spots to look for if you guys know any. I understand if you don't want to give up your spot though! Lol

Yes there are flatheads in Seneca lake and a huge channel cat population. There's also a good amount of stripers and white bass. As for spots I like to fish in the coves and close to the original Creek channel.

I've never fished for flatheads in a lake. I've heard it is very different from rivers, what should I do and look for or change from my river tactics

Fish long running bays. Try to target 6 to 9 foot of water right now. Yes Seneca definitely has flathead!! Great lake!!
