After work I decided to go out for some flathead, bait was hard to find and only caught 8 good pieces by dark. But was still able to get a few rods out in the darkness and catch a few fish. Best part was a good friend got his first flathead at 41 lbs. He is 6'6" so the fish doesn't look that big Haha, I was able to catch a 19lb fish 2 hours later.

First flathead 41.
I worry you may have spoiled the guy. Instant success often multiplies the frustration we all know can happen with flathead.
I feel a bit better about my skills hearing that someone else has trouble gathering bait.

I got off at 6pm Saturday by the time I got too the lake it was 730 that gave me a hour to catch bait. We caught a ton of small gills but only one bass, one big gill and 6 big greenies worth putting a hook into. An hour is usually enough time to gather a decent bit of bait but the baitfish seemed to be in a funk that evening. I told Austin the nights that always seem to produce fish is the nights bait is hard to find or malfunctions in motors or gear.

Only 7, we was huntin a dayroost, the birds stayed in the feeding fields all day due too moisture in the air and light rain all day. We did go on a afternoon pigeon/dove hunt and killed 30. I was guiding some Arkansas boys from the pipeline they had fun. Before season I took them on two pigeon hunts we killed 96 one day and 87 the other.
