Hello to my fellow anglers from Cowboy country. I've been lurking about here for awhile, stealing y'all's knowhow, and have decided to join the conversation. I live near Stillwater, OK and fish primarily in this area. Lakes on my shortlist include McMurtry, Blackwell, Sooner, Keystone and Kaw. I enjoy fishing in the Cimarron and Arkansas rivers and a couple of the larger creeks in the area as well. I have been fishing from the bank predominately for the last couple of years altho I have a boat or two. Always interested in fishing reports from this area, new rigs/techniques and fishing yarns. I love catching a nice Flattie about as much as anything, or bringing home a few CC for dinner. (Cornmeal and hot oil, is there anything better?) As you might have guessed from my username, I'm interested also in 'yak fishing, tho I have yet to pull the trigger on one. (It's only money, right?)
Seems the fall bite is starting here, or at least my success seems to be improving lately. Anyhow, hello again and good fishing to everyone of you "freaks"

Funny, started out looking at high end stuff, then the Walmart stuff. Now I'm back to looking at the better boats again. Read a little about your experience Mexicanthreat. Sure like the looks of the Wilderness Ride115X. Pricey, but some really nice features. And there is a dealer about 60 miles away. I could actually paddle one a bit before deciding. Maybe I'm avoiding that because I have a good idea what the result might be! Not so easy to sneak a new kayak in the house as a fishing rod or a shotgun! HeHe
Thanks for the welcome! looking forward to some good conversations about fishing, etc.

Not easy to sneak one at all. lol. If you can test one go for it. Some are impossible to tip as others are impossible not to(walmart). The one I bought was only a ten footer and if you leaned more than three inches you was swimming. They did have 12 footers that looked to be a whole lot better made and more stable.
