Does Mercury or anyone make rebuild parts for old motor fuel systems? Fuel pumps and carb rebuild kits? Ethanol seams to be a problem with old 2 stroke motors.

The Gas now is harmful for motors. If you search you can find what you need. I pick up johnson parts from a local marina. and Mercury parts I've only needed electronic parts and i get them from CDI electronics. Ebay is a great place to find what you need. If you are having troubles finding something inparticular message me and I will see what I can do to help.

The hoses from the tank to engine should be replaced yearly. Switching to higher octane is the easiest way to prevent problems. Stabil or another type of additive with every fill up is also a safe way. The ethanol levels were raised last year and is starting to cause problems even in brand new engines.

I was just wondering if rebuild kits now are better then they used to be because of ethanol or are they the same as they used to be.
