I'm just excited that it's almost time to start fishing for the catfish again! I need somewhere to clean my reels though, and I am wondering if you guys have any recommendations? Also, I want to share that in mid July I'm going on a 6 day fishing trip on the folly river in South Carolina. I will be fishing for small sharks, in the 6 foot and under range, redfish, drum, and anything else that we happen to catch! I could also fish the pier, but the river may be more fun. I will definitely post pictures! Really though, any info on the reel cleaning would be appreciated. Looking to have penn squall level winds and abu 6500's cleaned. Thanks everyone!

I am scared to clean them myself because I could mess them up so bad. Should they be cleaned right before I go to the beach so they are in top shape to fight the strong saltwater fish? Or if they're cleaned now will they be good through the whole summer?

I would clean and lube now. then again and do a complete rinse out when done in the saltwater

Ok, sounds good to me. It will probably be next week's project.
