I am going to be getting 2 new abu Garcia 7000's and I need a good rod to pair with them I have 2 ugly stick catfish rods that I use on smaller cats and they are to small and I also have a ugly stick tiger that I like but I was told you can't use braid with this rod is this true and I am a big fan of braid so I would like to be able to use it I will be using live bluegill sunfish bullheads and creek chubs for bait using 1-8 oz wieghts I am usually fishing in our river

Welcome to the site man. Where is "our river"? I myself have never used a tiger stick. Braid Will work best with stainless or ceramic eyes. But ceramic is fragile.

Our river is the tallapossa river in Alabama the tiger has stainless eyes but i was told the braid will eat through them

braid is not goin to eat through stainless eyes. i have a lot of tiger rods and never had a problem with their eyes. great rod for the money, i use braid on one of the rods and dacron and mono on the rest.
