The Whisker Seeker MH is a nice rod for what the OP wants. I own 3 and they’re impressive. The Rippin Lips are nice too but I don’t care for the split grip. (Totally personal preference though) Whisker Seeker just introduced the new FMJ models and they look very interesting.

Picked up 3 medium action rippin lips rods for 20 bucks apiece at cabelas. Was told by employees there that they no longer carrying them that’s why they were marked down. Haven’t had a chance to use them yet but heard very good things about them

Yeh apparently Cabelas is getting rid of Team Catfish and Whisker Seeker too. I grabbed a couple TC mediums for $39 a piece. One location had a few Whisker Seekers in the rack still but not marked down.

Went back for the 2 tc rods I saw but they were gone but I did get the last 2 whisker seekers mh spinning rods for 40 bucks and 1 ripping lips heavy baitcasting rod for 30 bucks. Best deal I think I ever got in that store

Unless I need some line, hooks or sinkers quick, I’ll be ordering from and supporting businesses that support Catfishermen. Catfish Connection is a great place, I’ve ordered several reels from them and the rods can be ordered straight from RL, WS or whoever. You can get a Abu Pro Rocket or CL Big Game reel from CC for less than the big box stores charge for the basic C3 reels.

I have a number of different catfish rods and only had issues with the B&M bumping rod. I plan on purchasing the Denali Bottom Feeder series catfish rods. They made a bumping rod that is super light. The prices are not bad either. I would say the best rod I have in my inventory right now is the Warrior Cat Rod. I will purchase them and get back on this post with my review.
