Always baitcast large catfish, striper and musky.

Baitcaster, Get it dialed in and the casting is phenomenal. but they truly shine on power for big cats. Not to mention an open needs t be big to be able handle big cats.

In my little circle of fishermen, we use the name "baitcaster" and "openface" interchangeably...We call the other style "open bails"...It must just be a hillbilly thang. ...P.S. I love them both.

Bait casting here. I use Abu Garcia 7000 which hold a lot of line. At times you get hung up a lot bumping for catfish which results in line lost. I rarely anchor. I love those Warrior Cat rods combined with Navionics mapping so I can locate those big cats.
