I know it's a long shot, I am looking for a one but best case a pair of these rods. The actual model# on the rod BCC710H. If you have one or a pair you would be willing to sell, shoot me a PM with a price. I travel through out Mansfield, Columbus, Zanesville, Coshocton and Circleville weekly for work. I would be more then willing to work out a FtF that is easy on you... Thanks

Those are still my favorite rods too Fred I have tried Damn near everything on the market and the big cats are what I always end up with. Catfish connection still has them in their catalog

Jordan, I emailed catfish connection just this week, They are out of stock. John at catfish connection didn't give any indication they would be returning to stock. I procrastinated ordering a pair last summer.. I think my only chance is if Kip opens up his vast super secret rod vault...lol

I can give him a call if you want. It is possible they are out of production. Last I knew he had sold his off though unless he got some again which is very possible since he usually has a small retail store lol

Also Fred what line weight and hook style do you use because Quantum at one point made a musky rod with the same blank that might work for your application. I will see what I can find out

Jordan thanks for the help, it's probably scary what all Kip has locked away in his catfish supply vault... For all I know he might have an alien and or Jimmy Hoffa in there...lol... I am looking for a river rod, something to sling/lob the 4-6 ozs. of lead along with a sucker or gill... Line 40-50lb mono, hooks Charlie Browns or Daichii D85s. I still haven't given up on bank fishing the Muskingum around Dresden, it's my closest access to larger shovels. I hate to spend a100 bucks on a high end rod that might not get much use, I use Okuma battle cats for my lake shovel fishing, but throwing that size of bait and weight is pushing them in my opinion. I know ripping lips rods have a heavy version that is stouter then a TWC extreme, but I would like to avoid EVA grips if I can.. Not asking much am I....lol... Hey before I forget have a great 4th

Sorry I missed this Fred. Happy 48th to you as well. I talked with kip, he does not have any big cats. I haven't been able to dig up the thread about that musky rod. I will keep looking though because now I want to know too. Black and blue custom rods that were floating around for a while would fit your needs. They were 7 foot 6 though, but got the job done. Ugly stick tigers and sturdy stiks fit the bill also but just shorter. I am with you I love the 7 foot 10 rods for when I actually need to cast baits. And a sturdy durable rod is a must on the river.

Jordan, looks like they are indeed out of production and have been for sometime, I have time to look, I am planning a trip out to Salt Fork, Clendening and the Muskingum this fall. I can probably get by with my 8ft battle cats on the lakes. The river may be another story

Jordan I was thinking the first week in October, though the thought of packing the Benelli, my Hydel duck calls and making it a cast and blast trip does sound tempting. As my plans firm up I might PM you for tips, I have never fished Clendening and my last trip to Salt Fork was in 1990

Cool cast and blast would be awesome if we can work that out. We used to do that on wills creek all the time. I won't be able to garauntee you any fish on either lake but could give you some one to talk to other than the trees. PM is fine also my number is 330 234 0306. During the day text is better. We have a vacation planned in early October and waterfowl takes over for me late October but if we can work it out I would like to get out with you.

I have one of these quantum big cat 7'10" one piece rods new with tags never used. I was told back then by my supplier that they were going to be discontinued so I bought 2 spinning and 2 casting. I think wholesale was around $60 each. I put $100 on each of them and sold them all EXCEPT for one spinning. Still has the plastic over it. I was told back then they were still going to make the 7'6" one piece but not the 7'10". So if anyone wants it for $100.00 non negotiable. Just let me know. I live in Dayton, Ohio but can bring it to the Dixie Marine Swap Meet this Saturday 2/15/20 from 7am - 10:30am. If anyone wants it. Just let me know.
