Has anyone tried brining the shad they freeze for later use? If so do you have any pointers? I ordered some brine today hoping to catch a few shad next weekend and give it a try.
It's like playing chess with a pigeon, no matter how good you are at chess. The pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces, crap on the board, and strut around like its victorious.

Cooler of Ice and a bunch of salt and throw directly in when caught. Will freeze them quickly and seal in the juices. Straight from the brine into vacuum sealer or freezer bag.
