I'm getting back into catfishing and back when I was really into it I was using Stren and Triline but now there is so much new stuff out there. What do you have on your reel.

Hi Seas Grand slam yellow or Pline yellow is what I use on my reels. I use Hi Seas Quattro for my leaders.. I usually buy my line from David at Bottom Dwellers.

Just what Fred said, the grand slam is the way to go. I had a bad experience buying line off of eBay once and won't do it again. Go through bottom dwellers. The Quattro is fine if you feel the need, but in my experience the clear grand slam won't leave you feeling like you would need anything more. Typically nothing wrong with yellow. I have used it as well with great results, but in my opinion and experience, any line that has color added holds more memory. Especially in higher tests.

Thanks for all the replies so far. When I was talking to one of my coworkers about line I mentioned the Hi-Seas and Quatro and he said those are good lines. Now he is a big saltwater surf fisherman he said that he uses a brand called Gardner that is from England. He said if you want to make a long cast and have a strong line that is the line to use. He brought a piece in for me to look at that was 20 lb test gold color. He said it was low stretch and you could feel the bite better with this type of line and the gold is easier to see at night and it helps keep people from walking into it on the beach and it seems to have become a thing with the surf fishermen to use that gold color. There's a bunch of guys in England selling it on e-bay but there is one guy in the USA selling it on bulk spools. rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_id=114&ipn=icep&toolid=20004&campid=5338028513&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FGardner-SURE-CAST-20-LB-TEST-GOLD-YELLOW-1-LB-BULK-SPOOL-10368-FT-ON-A-SPOOL-%2F272716419346%3Fhash%3Ditem3f7f2a5112%3Ag%3AoG8AAOSwXetZQdE7I looked up Gardner on google and they seem to have a good reputation in europe and they are really big into supplying stuff for carp fishing (I didn't know that carp fishing was that big over there). I also saw on one of the videos on you tube they were fishing with the Gardner line for those giant Goonch catfish now that's a big catfish.
