For flatheads I run black and blue customs and american spirit rods. 8 footers one piece, good for bank or boat.

I have a few of the nite stick pros 7'6" and have caught up to 40# fish on them. 8 like them a lot. I just got some of the new Camo rods in the other day and there a lot heavier than the nite stick pros and built better. I haven't got to use them yet but will let you know. I love the blanks and the American spirit rods, a lot of tip but a solid backbone.

I use 6'6" Gander Mountain Musky rods. I only use 1 piece and I only use cork. I have seriously considered the TWC rods, but the length always holds me back.
I hope to have one broke on me some day. It would please me greatly...as long as I get to see it, at least. A;though, if it were to break on the hookset I would be pleased and disappointed at the same time.

I have dozens of flathead rods since I like experimenting to find the results I want.
My favorites so far are Quantum Big Cats. These were the first models they made and I have 3 of the heavy rods. Not much bend but lots of hooking power.
I had 6 Catmaxx rods but the tips were pretty limber. I didn't miss any hooksets with them but I always worried.
I have E-cats and solid fibergalss poles from before E-glass was introduced.
I bought a Wildcat Troph-E cat rod from Catfish Connection. It looks strong and stiff but the proof of a good rod is when I fight a 60 pound flathead and can sort of control it sometimes ;D
I do not own a 2 piece rod.
