Hey all,
I am located in Northern Virginia and fish the Potomac around Washington DC and Four Mile Run. I also fish down at Lake Anna pretty regularly (cold side). About 2 years ago, I bought a Lifetime Tamarack 110 so I could get out on the river and fish and escape the city. I've quickly gotten hooked on fishing for cats. There are a ton of awesome areas to go. I recently got over to the channel on the other side of the airport pier from Four Mile Run and it was right on target. There's a massive area around the airport that is flat (5 feet at low tide, 8-9 high tide) and it drops off to about 30-33 feet and runs a nice 100 yard stretch that works well for drifting.
Anyways, I am anxious to get better and figure out how to go after larger fish in a kayak. I am also a member of Bass Resource because I fish for bass as well but they seem pretty scarce in the areas I hit with my kayak (or I just don't have the skill). I'm a do-it-yourself type of guy and make my living most of the time as a mechanic. Thanks for letting me join and I hope to learn a ton!
