Some people use a throw net to catch them is smaller creeks. Personally I have caught them in small creeks using peices of night crawler on a jig head. I just let it drift in the current until I get a bite. I only know of a few small creeks to catch them in though.

I will either use a small hook with a piece of nite crawler or I use my castnet to get them. There are plenty of suckers in the Kokosing river.

I usually throw a small nightcrawler out and get them when I fish for them for fun. North Fork Licking River has plenty too.
