Might not be quite that easy. We had our three quarter of an acre pond stocked with two dozen channels and were lucky to catch one or two all year. In fact we have only caught one while fishing for them, the others have been off of crankbaits and spinners baits. I know a guy who put a dozen flatheads weighing in the teens in a 3 acre pond. He fished for them on and off for a few years, and I think he only caught one before running a trot line to remove them. I know of another pond (less than an acre) that has one flathead in it and it has never been caught, its just been witnessed swimming the banks a few times.
With that being said, a fish that large will have to eat quite a bit. So I imagine your odds are slightly different than the ones above.

i know what your saying my pond is the same way,i fish it just about everyday and know that there are tons of cats in it and there is a flathead and a nice blue along with some really nice channels in it and they havent ever been caught other the a few of the channels,but my buddies pond i can hammer the cats in it i done caught the same ones a dozen or so times there all tagged with cattle tags and it funny i catch number 602 alot think he likes me or something lol

I hope you get him again, good luck. Tagged them with cattle tags huh? We have wanted to find a way to tag fish that was inexpensive and that seems like a viable option. Might need something smaller for the channel cats though.
