Alright now ya'll are killing me. I must try these. If someone hits the mother load let me know. I sure would like someone to send me a hand full and the best way to try these.

our season just took a hit up here, 33 degrees last night and calling for 27 tonight We had a couple days of frost last year too. Although I didn't find any signs of damage to the mushrooms. I was once told that the woods hold warmer temperatures than do open ares. It both cuts the wind and holds heat from the day. I imagine it would take a sub 30 degree day to really frost the woods. I don't imagine it will affect the shrooms any, but I'll let you know if I find anything out. Chuck if I figure out a way to ship them, I'll send you a few if we find the mother load. I guess I could dehydrate them, but I don't know how that would taste? We typically dip our clean mushrooms in eggs and then roll them in a crust, such as flour, crumbled crackers, hush puppy mix, etc. and then we fry them in oil or butter until golden brown.

Hopefully we won't get the freeze they are calling for tonight! I haven't been out yet, but a hard freeze may throw things back! rollo

congrats. We didn't find very many this week. It was a bit too cold to grow mushrooms right. This weeks looking a lot better. If we get some good rain, I think next weekend will have the 400+ mushrooms. We found our first yellows of the season Friday. I'm gonna give it a week and head back out for the mother load. LOL

I went today with my boss and found 8lbs. Where you using industrial sized trash bags. LOL. Congrats, that a lot of shrooms. Quite possible more than I'll find all year on our 600 acres.
