Just got a bait tank up and going, but 3 of my big warmouth's died already in a day's time. Any ideas if water from the tap can be harmfull? I have two air stones in there with an aerator rated for 40 gallons with only about 20 gallons in the tank; so I think there's plenty of oxygen. Do not have a filter but just change out about a 5 gallon's bucket worth every so often.

Tap water from municipalities usually contains chlorine in it so that could be a factor. Most aquarium stores carry water treatment kits that make water safe for fish.
Whats the water temp? Sometimes fish die when the water gets too hot. Which may also be a factor.

You got to let that water run a few days to air the chlorine or sulfer out of it.

it was cold when I put them in and they layed flat on the bottom until I got some warmer water in there then they perked back up, but the big ones were slow to come. I was also delayed getting them from the lake to the house so that could've been an issue.

Try some better bait powder you can get it from catfish connection, also it may take a week or so and several fish to get the water balanced out.
