Taking the gf out after I get off work tonight...be lucky to b on the lake before two a.m. and staying to mid morning...anyone been finding any decent numbers lately? I found some decent ones last week at about six ft deep but nothing to brag about....just curious what depths you guys aim for this time of year?

dave we were having better luck a little deeper this past weekend and about 2 weeks prior. 12 to 18 has been best for us as far as lakes go. been using the boat alot though but especially clendenning has been better for us deeper

That explains why I only caught one 7lb channel and a leather back turtle...I was fishing an area that was about six ft deep...I tried to stay away from as deep as you are talking because I assumed there was a decent thermocline established...guess deeper might've been better even especially with as big as the moon was...anyone else have input? I'm hoping to get back out tonight...thanks jordan

try cut bait dipped in blood....worked well for me....also at a lake...try the good ole fashioned hot dog...i actually injected them with blood and used half a dog on an 8 ot hook....works well when you dont have to cast them far....falls off hook easy b.c of current...be something to try at the lake and very cost effective!

I'm most likely going to be at Tappan tonight. I'll hit up the deeper water first then gradually move shallower to see if I can find anything. My cousin caught a 15 lb channel out of the Tusc River this past sunday, so I've got that want to catch a big channel.
