anyone ever fish the river by steubenville? or really jefferson or belmont county at all. its about an hour and 15min drive for me and was just wondering if it is worth a shot since all the water closer to me is basically too cold to produce.

Fished the dam in stubenville a couple times...I wasn't overly impressed it was fished hard and u had to share the area with like thirty other fishermen...sure that's not the case this time of year...but when we went the gar wouldn't leave bait alone long enough for a cat to find it lol....saw one flat come out and it was somewhere around fifteen pounds..maybe ask will (varmintsniper) he's been there more than me but never this late in the year so might not have valid info for ya...keep us posted how it works for ya if u end up going Jordan...

west virginia dnr has been stocking blues in the ohio along their entire border since around 2005 I beleive.....which should mean there should be some 15-20# class fish showing up in the upper reaches of the ohio.....although the real chance at a trophy I beleive you still have a better chance on one of pools on the lower end closer to cincy....
I've seen tournament results on the internet from a year or two ago out of marietta where there were several decent sized blues brought to weigh-in.......around 15#ish.........I caught one around #15 last year near the belleville pool......joey6500 caught a 15#blue out of the muskingum near Z-ville a couple years ago, which I beleive came from the WV stocking......
