Just got a note stick camo rod...really like it but seems to have a whole lot less tip than my quantum big cats....what's your guys opinions on these rods and what application it's best used for...circles hooks braid vs mono things of this sort....thanks for any info guys....think it'll match up great with my 7000b!

my dads got one and loves it. he runs 30lb mono. uses clicker 75 circles 25 percent of time. basically clicer from boat circles from bank. does fine either. seems beefier than the big cat like you stated dave but still does fine either way. i have got a few fish on it when he was asleep and i like the way it feels to set the hook with it. seems like a real solid rod.

The big cats are made from eglass and the nite sticks are a graphite composite. I believe that's why the feel is different. I've heard alot of good things about them. A lot of guys are afraid of the inserts in the eyes but I've never had any problems with the pro nite sticks and I'm awful hard on my rods.

Thanks for the info Jordan and Kip! Can't wait for spring so I can try the new rod out! I've already got cabin fever...probably doesn't help I keep buying new setups that I'm dying to try lol Worst thing ive ever done fishing... Was last winter i went out and bought all new rods..reels...switched to braided...kahle hooks... Started rigging differently.... So when summer hit i was ready to roll..... Fished for probably 50 serperate times... in the first couple months... With no great fishing days... Always catching small baby cats... I kepts blameing it on switching up too much... Soon realized now one was doing any good... So i stuck with it...

I have a camo nite stick as well. As Kip stated the difference is between the e-glass and graphite. It has much more tip, but plenty of backbone. I have ran nothing but St. Croix series for the most part for years, but in the past few years have bought different rods etc. The nite stick is a quality rod at a good cost in my opinion. It just depends on what your used to, and what you have a feel for action wise... rollo

Thanks for the info rollo...what I have seen I am a big fan...I want the ability to lob a large bait and figured it has enough tip for that...either way it looks great paired up with my abu garcia 7000b !

I have been using the same rod for threes weeks now. I like the rod, but the end is a little flexible for me. I dont fish rivers. I fish mostly lakes for flatheads. I wish the end was a little bit stronger.
