Getting my new boat in the morning...nothing special...it's a 14 ft aluminum vbottom with false floor if I remember it right...I don't want it to fish from...I'm gonna use it to haul abunch of gear and two guys to remote banks spots that aren't accessible otherwise...and depending on situation I can place baits with it as well...what you guys think of the idea? I'll post pics tomorrow hopefully

I wouldn't be afraid to take that boat on the Muskingum when the water wasn't high. Me and Fatcat have fished out of 12 foot flat bottoms numerous times.

3 people might be a tight squeeze but I agree with kip, id fish in it. Mount some rod hoders or make your own and your good to go. Find yourself a used 9.9 hp motor, so you don't have to take that class one weekend, and it will be a great cat boat. We use a sheet of cut plywood 1 foot by one foot and strap 2 pvc pipes as rod holders to it, we dohave this so we don't have to drill holes in the boat. We just set a battery or our tackle box on the bottom of the board and its good enough to use circle hooks with.

dave check out my boat thread. way smaller than that its 10ft trihull. we put it in the muskingum with no worries at all.
throw some rod holders on it to keep the rods out of the boat to keep you some room and hit the water. I would run that in the muskingum any day of the week man seriously. just be smart and you will be fine. that will make you a decent little cat boat.

Looks good!! ... How far ... And what speeds will you be pulling the trailer... Those small tire trailers really suck for pulling a long distance... The small tire ratio really heats the bearings up... If they havent been serviced in awhile i would pull them apart and inspect and repack.. Or replace if they seem loose...

Yeah definitely plan to replace the wheel bearings regardless of condition before spring...
