Recently purchased a 9 foot shimano tdr medium heavy trolling rod to use with circle hooks. I imagine that trolling rods are made to do the same things as a circle hook rod would. Both are locked down in a holder and get loaded up for hook sets. So on these assumptions I THINK it will be a good match. Has any one tried these rods or any other trolling rods for circle hooks?

Awesome, I was a little aprehensive because when I got it home I noticed that it didn't have a lure weight. So I didn't know how it would handle casting 4 to 5 ounces of weight. I guess you don't cast trolling rods. Lol thanks for the info.

You will be fine. I have a couple Teloras which are a step up in quality and price. They handle everything.
