Well if you read my write up about the Abu Garcia Alpahamar then basically everything thing i said about that and then some, this is the reel i sold my Abu Garcia 10000i to get and man I am not disapointed at all!!! It uses basically the same design as the alphamar but uses Penns parts and materials which are second to none. There are slight differences which are the rings on the spool to let you know how much line you have left on running fish, 30lbs of drag, thats right i said 30lbs of fricken drag!!! And it is just as smooth as the alphamar. Loud clicker, and like the aplhamar the drag moves in Increments which gives you a more accurate control of the drag setting. They are both level winds which is good for me the only thing i would change is maybe add a magnetic cast control becuase the spool is so smooth that the spool gets moving pretty fast and might test your thumb on hard casts with heavy bait. Overall nicest reel i have ever owned not that i have owned all there is but most of the medium to low high range ones i hvae at least tried.
