I started to try out the charlie bown octopus hooks i got a while ago the past couple nights out but was finally able to get some runs on the rods using these hooks last night. This hook is like a combination of Kahle and octopus circle. It has a wide gap and the slightly turned in hook of a circle hook. It is advertised as being able to be used as a J or a circle, which means you can set the hook or can let the rod load up and the fish hooks itself. I was very sceptical of this and was kinda worried about trying to set the hook with one of these and not getting a hookup. Even though it was only one night worth of fishing and there has to be a longer period of time using them to give them an honest review i will say tht so far they work as advertised . Iset the hook in two and let it load up on one just to see if it worked the way it was advertised, and it did! i was very impressed with these hooks I used them all summer and now they are my favorite hook for flatheads. I am using the 10/0 HD and another good thing about them is the huge hook gap which allows me to use really big baits while still having plenty of hook showing. These can be found at Wild wolf products.

I've used these hooks and really like them but are kinda pricey. I used them both ways, as a circle Locked in the rod holders and also like a khale and set the hook. Thanks for the review!
