My biggest Lesson Learned last year. Check your gas tank brackets and battery hold downs! I'm sure others have theirs mounted a different way? Check your tank for any movement when tank is empty or low. Mine was held down with the L shaped brackets screwed to the plywood floor and the sides of the tank. I remounted this in the spring and never gave it a second thought of checking before my Iowa trip. It was a costly mistake! On day 2 of the classic I found a boat full of gas which ended my day. The screws in the bracket worked loose from the tank. Guessing from all the potholes in Pa and ruff water through out the year. It wore/cracked the steel tank from the 1/4-1/2 movement on the one side. My boat batteries I check for movement every time I recharge just never thought about the gas tank. Just glad I wasn't on the water or out in the middle of Lake Erie when it decided to drain. Hope this saves someone the hassle of trying to find a repair shop or replacement when you need it the most.
