I recently purchased a large weigh sling from bottom dwellers tackle. I ordered the large model, 50 inches wide. I was previously using a bfs weigh sling made for carp anglers, but was only 42".
Pro's
The first thing I noticed was how compact the weigh sling was. It came in a nice carrying case that measured 2 feet long which makes it a lot easier to carry to our bank spots. Here's a pic.
Carrying Case
Sling and Carrying Case
The way in which the sling breaks down. Similar to a tent frame.
The sling I was using did not collapse so its case was 44", quite annoying to carry long distances.
The second thing I noticed was the thickness of the handles/ straps used for lifting the fish. Here's a pic.
Compared to the bfs weigh slings straps.
The third thing I noticed was the size of the zippers on the bottom dwellers sling. They were 2, if not 3 times larger than the bfs sling zippers. Here's a pic.
The final thing I liked about the bottom dwellers sling was the amount of mesh they used. Mesh allows water to drain out quicker. The sling even had a small mesh area near the bottom of the sling where water usually begins to pool in other slings. Here's a pic:
The bfs sling had holes punched in it to release water, which makes me weary. Holes usually tear.
The bottom dweller sling also has Velcro strips that help to lock the sides together.
Cons:
Only bad part is that it didn't come with instructions on how to catch fish big enough to use it with. Lol
I did run some tests and put some things in it, but I didn't take any pics. Amanda was kind enough to get in and let me lift her up in it, and it handled fine. However she wouldn't let me take pics and post on the Internet. She weighs 125lbs by the way. Now i just have to get out and test it's durability.
