I just got my Cat Fight rod the other day from bottom dwellers tackle and I liked what I saw. It's a 7'6" one piece Heavy casting rod. Its rated for 15-40 lb test and 2-5oz lure weights. To try and make a generalization on its action, I would argue that it falls in between a 7' one piece M and a MH Ugly stick tiger. Being more limp in the tip than the MH tiger and more stiff than the M action. I took it out Saturday morning and ran circle hooks down on the Ohio river with it. It casted quite a bit better than I had imagined. I was casting 6oz pyramid sinkers well over 30 yards. I did managed to get a few bites on cut skipjack but it never loaded. It was sensitive enough to see when the current was bouncing my pyramid off of bottom and drifting it down river. So it's sensitive enough for me to run circles with, and it definitely has enough backbone if it's capable of landing Goliath groupers and 6 foot sharks. I'm going to get another one to trade out my medium heavy tiger with, that way if I wanna run circles or j hooks I have one rod to do both. None of that bringing 4 rods along for a 3/4 mile walk to our bank spots.
