My name is David Baker. New to the forum, but certainly not new to the great sport of catfishing. Well, my best friend and fishing partner Will Love and I are filming for a hardcore catfish dvd production. The idea of filming a dvd is to cater to the catfisherman that have the itch to watch a dvd that they can relate to, learn from, and be entertained. We all know what its like; can't get out of the house for any given reason, tired of staring at your computer, all you have is fishing on the brain and you are about to go crazy. Well, we are attempting to provide your "fix" in the catfishing addiction.
Our plans are to fish a few different water systems including the Neuse river, James River, Badin/Tillery, Kerr, and maybe headed back to Wheeler Lake Alabama to fish with our buddy Jason Bridges. Currently, we have 2 very successful James river guides that will be featured on the film, but would love to add a few more to the list. We plan to film flatheads, blues, tech talk, and strategies to successfully target trophy catfish. We dont want to just film lines in the water and pulling in fish, we want to show WHY we are fishing a particular area. It wont be all business though. When you get me and Will together, there are plenty of shenanigans on any given trip and we want to show that. There wont be any corny "acting" and we wont try to sound like "professionals" b/c we are far from it. We are just too guys that have a passion for catfish and we have a blast doing it, and on occasion, put some quality fish in the boat that want to share OUR way of doing so. You may not see any records broken, but you will some awesome fish getting their eyes crossed and lips ripped!. We are currently sponsored by Bottom Dwellers Tackle and Driftmaster rod holders, but are still looking for any sponsors that want their product's name to be in every catfishermans house hold.
There will be a lot of Night time fishing in the summer months, and of course day time fishing in the winter. Basically it will just be a Carolina boy and a Tennessee mountain fella having a good time on the water catching some nice fish and giving some tips a long the way for the person just getting into this great sport that we all love.
The reason for me starting this thread is, what are some things you guys would like to see that you haven't seen in other fishing shows/fishing dvds?? You want to see us catching bait? preparing bait? bloopers? (There is definitely going to be a blooper segment b/c hell, my entire life is a blooper sometimes!!). Any ideas, suggestions, and support would be greatly appreciated, fellas. After all, we aren't making a dvd for us to watch, we are filming what YOU, THE VIEWER, want to watch. Thanks guys!
