Cool , good deal. I remember the scrap that fish put on...and it for sure pulled like a channelcat. We were dragging baits on a 5' flat and that rod got hammered....thought I had a 20+ blue on the line. An old man " captain Roundhill " once told me catfish go shallow for two reasons..... to f##k and to eat...and spawn had done been over...

Yeah the gti cast good for me... not quite as forgiving as a 6500...which I believe the 6500 and narrow spooled 7000 cast with the most ease...I get the gti tangled up sometimes when trying to sling it real good...but that's fishin...rod choice is real important too for casting ease/ distance..

Also bottom dwellers has the new duo troller drif masters. They hold the rod higher at a 50 degree angle. I like a good angle on my rods, I believe it helps hook ups for the way I like to fish...I have 4 on the way to mount to the stern..

Not trying to hijack thread, question at hand has been answered thoroughly and didn't wanna start new thread. Abu doc I have a newer style 7000hsn with something wrong. When I am reeling a fish in there is a spot during each handle rotation where it feels "gummed up" or kinda grinding..or justnot smooth. Its not during the entire rotation of the handle, yet just one spot of each rotation if that makes sense. Now when I reel in just the bait and a weight it feels cometely smooth and normal. It is only when the rod is loaded up with tension from a fish. Even when reeling in big bait and 8oz weight I don't notice it and feels smooth? I hope it might just be a bad spot in the worm gear?
