Who would be interested in spending three days camping on the river later this summer or fall? I've been wanting to do this for a long time, where a few of us w/ boats get together and set up camp on a sandbar that's good for fishin'. Now you don't have to have a boat to participate but we need to make sure we have enough empty seats to bring everybody who want's to come hang out. I'm talking about 3 days of boat fishin' bank fishin' whatever n the heck we wanna do........cooking out.......telling stories and being dirty taking baths in the river type of stuff. Now you don't have to stay the whole time, I know that's a lil extreme for some folks, I wouldn't mind totin anybody back to the landing if they need to go home.
I can't place a date that would be good for me at this time, and might not know until just a few weeks prior, that's just the way my job is. I was just putting it out there to see what kind of interest there might be. Not really a formal gathering, just a fish n camp type deal. Tell me what ya'll think? I have a perfect sandbar in mind.

yeah it sure is beautiful down there, and lowcountry holds a special place in my heart....the lakes may not be the best catfish fishery in the country anymore, yet there is still no where quite like it. It's another world down there. the two lakes are vast and cover about 200,000 acres......yet for being sister lakes they are completely opposite of eachother. Besided the lakes there are a ton of rivers down there that have great catfishing too.......you have the peedee, congagree, wateree, edisto, santee, and cooper which all hold big fish........I've made my mind up a long time ago that I wanna retire down there, or atleast get a spot to spend my winters.........

just got back to my hotel room in nc. Had a blast down in low country the last couple of days. We caught some good fish saturday during the tournament, yet came in second. We had 88.5 lbs in 5 fish, 1st place had 104.......only 6 boats entered. 1st was guaranteed 1k, we didn't get any money.......we even had big fish with a 44lb blue..........had a great experience anyway, some good fishin and heard some good stories from ol' roundman. We kinda slacked on the pic takin but I did get a good lake moultrie sunrise. I'm gonna go wash off 2 days of dirt and sweat. Well I did jump off the boat with a bottle of dish soap friday while we were bait fishin..........it was hott down there...

Heading out tonight around midnight for SC........gotta work up the road in nc on Monday so we're gonna spend a couple days with an ol' buddy down at santee. We're gonna try our luck in a big money tournament going on down there on Saturday. Hopefully we can get some bigguns, knowing roundhill pretty well I don't think we will have any problems getting fish in the boat. Hopefully saturday night we will be celebrating with bourbon drinks and fried catfish! Wish us luck!!

ducky, I think you're right about the moon triggering spawn......I know sunfish "bream" bed on full moons.......
I beleive the amount of daylight in a day also triggers them to spawn, moreso than water temp.
