I am selling a savage .223 rifle. I bought it brand new almost a year ago and haven't done anything but sight it it, never been hunted with. The gun was cleaned after sighting it in I think. Even if not, it has been shot a maximum of 15 times. I'm asking $400 since I'm not sure what the gun is worth now but I paid $600 when I bought it. It has a fairly decent scope mounted on it also. I will provide pictures if anyone is interested in it. Message me on here or text me at 304-559-5114. Thanks

Oh, I forgot bullheads! I've been using them with success the last few days after someone suggested them

I'm not sure we support pay lakes here, I don't but I'm not going to judge anybody. In all honesty I would say anything that is live and at least hand sized or bigger that you can catch in the waters you fish should be fine. I've never heard of flathead getting sick of a bait, they are eating machines lol. It might just be a slump. They are very elusive fish and even the best flathead anglers go a long time without a run every now and then. Don't get discouraged in your angling abilities. If it has worked for you in the past, chances are it will probably work for you again. Spend time on the water, more time with lines in the water is the only way to catch more fish!

Yep, 7 foot rods are by far my favorite. Another thing I like to do is get power handles for the 6500's. I think they're about $20 on bottomdwellerstackle.com . I love them but a lot of people like the regular handles also.

I've never heard of flatheads getting sick of a certain bait. Are you fishing a lake or river? That could mean that you are just fishing a spot that a lot of other people fish also, which means that it is probably overfished. Maybe not though. Maybe someone could chime in on this one because I'm unsure

An abu 6500 is very capable of landing fish that size, my pb was landed on one at 46 lbs. you just can't horse the fish in. Those size fish will kill you with a rod that long. My perfect length rod is 6-8 foot for catfish. I use the ugly stik tiger in medium and medium/heavy action. On the medium/heavy I run abu 7000's and penn squalls. On the mediums I run 6500's. If you need to cast far the long rods will help though.

I would say live or very fresh cut bait for flatheads. Also things that are native to the water you are fishing in.

We were going to pick one of the two. Is captain Hugh still chartering? How could I get ahold of him?

Thanks for the input bobby! I know you're a blue fisherman. I really wanna go somewhere to catch blues in the near future. Me and my dad are planning to go. Do you have any suggestions
