I have 2 Do It jig molds and a removable split shot mold. Looking to trade for 2-3 oz no roll-pyramid-or flat side molds. Or if anyone wants out of the sinker pouring business I would trade fair amount of 2 oz egg sinkers for the molds. I have around 100 pounds of 2 oz eggs made up.

Wish I could help but I never tried to fish for musky. I got one last year that struck a bare hook as I was moving a rod in preparation for flathead fishing. Good thing I had Ducky along to help land it!

Any time of year you can locate channel cats by finding the most abundant food source.
My problem is that I usually locate forktails then learn why they are there because of what is in there stomach. I'm like a step behind my own advice ;D

With that video I realized a flathead in daylight presented a good opportunity and as Mike got in the little boat I announced I was getting the camera.
My plan was to shoot the fight over his shoulder but when I got the camera out of the pontoon the little boat and Mike was already out in the lake. My camera doesn't zoom in movie mode so I just got what I could.

The CPR guys agree on careful fish handling. This is my first weigh sling. The Europeans assured me it could handle the largest fish but even after modifications to strengthen it the sling failed. MMagis made a sling and I have made 2 more. This is the absolute best for weighing fish so they aren't harmed and they don't damage scales or themselves. This is my current sling made from an old cot. I am currently investigating medical slings used for holding humans that are incapacitated. Hospitals use them to bathe patients thtt are immobilized. When I got new canvas on the Catfish Queen both guys agreed that they could fabricate strong slings but neither has followed through.

Sean I changed handles on one 6500. I was debating on installing teflon drags and ceramic bearings but my reel repairman advised that it would be to expensive for the benefits gained. You could probably gain if you bought a pro rocket with these features.

Well the dacron is soft and will flatten into itself. You can detect nicks in mono by running it through your fingers but you have to visually check dacron braid. 36# braid is chancy for 40+ cats so one little roughed up spot spells disaster.Dacron will mildew and rot and mud sticks to it.
Unless you set baits at long distance and can't stand mono stretch, you are better off with mono. Superbraids float and become a pain in lakes without current to sink it.

I use 20# Big Game on channel cat rigs and have caught flats up to 52 on it.
I use 30# Big Game solar on the James river. Landed lots of blues 40-77 pounds.
I use dacron braid for flathead. My favorite is Cortland greenspot 36# but becoming more difficult to find and pay for. I've been substituting Cabelas prestige. Dacron is such high maintenance line that I don't reccomend it for most people.

The pontoon is our barge and for Kayla and Grandmaw to sleep in. The little boat is to run lines and carry rods and bait. Last 4 years we fight and land flathead out in deep water to insure they can't roll up on line and break it at the bank. The little boat at Salt Fork with the landing net ready to push off and chase flathead down after hooking them. Mike hooked one in daylight and here is how it works.
