Craziest thing I ever saw, was people that had bulk mulch brought in for their flower beds. The shredded mulch grew huge sponges the following year around their house etc. ! Thats some darn good mulch for your money in my opinion! LOL. rollo

That happens more often than you think. I'm not sure why either, but heres what I have concluded. SOME BACKGROUND: When searching for mushrooms you will find that certain dead trees will always have mushrooms growing under them. This is particularly true for dead elms, but tulip poplars produce as well. I imagine that the mulch consists of elm/poplar or something like them. Best I can guess anyway. My fishing buddies aunt finds morels in her flower beds every year. I guess I should start my own flower bed. ;D

We went out in the rain Friday morning and found 561 mushrooms between three of us in 3 hours. The rain made it a little easier to find the greys becuase the leaves are darker when they get wet, making the greys and yellows stand out more. The grays had come up real thick, we probably didn't cover much more than an acre the whole time we where hunting. Here's a picture of the mushrooms Amanda and I found. My little brother found 208 but didn't count them until later, so they aren't in the picture. Attachments:
