Doesnt sound bad for the application you are using it for, but if I was you I would downsize the line to about 14lb. You will find with them close faced reels that if you use line that is too heavy for the reel they will end up not casting for ya.

Headed down to Tappan and fished a pretty hard hit spot on the lower end. Ended up catching 2 flatheads Thursday and fished it again last nite with no runs! Guess thats why its called fishing and not catching! Didnt have a scale with me so Im not sure on the weight. Attachments:

yah i dont know what is wrong with that damn thing...I used that reel half the year last year and i NEVER had a problem with it. its still a good reel, and its not that loose. It woud make a great reel for someone that is dropping baits in the lake instead of casting. I personally think that it wouldnt be that hard to cast even loose like it is. But like I told you I would take $25 for it.

damn thats a hellova nice batch there AGAIN!!! I took my dad out last nite and we picked about 50 or so yellows, dog peckers are still popin as well...I picked 31 myself...brings me up to 481. Im hoping that with the little bit of sunshine that we got today and what we get tomorrow that they will be up and grow some for this weekend...

yellows are just starting to come up in this area...We found about 20...left about 10 more to see if they will grow...not sure what the total number was that we found today, i gave them all to my father in law...

The spot I look is a great spot, no one else ever looks there, and they grow EVERYWHERE there! Lots of elm trees there...This is the first year that I have ever found any grey ones thre, Im heading out there here in a few minutes. Hope to find some big yellows today...
